We’re now at the midpoint of Lent. If you’ve not yet joined our WhatsApp Lent Group, there’s still time. Simply text Lindsay on 07780 144448 or email: vicarspr@gmail.com. You can also see the daily postings on our website (www.stphilipsreigate.com). Our thanks to Simon Curd who has chosen many of the images to accompany the prayers, poems and quotations. There’s still time to donate to our two Lent charities, ShelterBox’s Tent for Lent appeal: https://www.justgiving.com/page/st-philips-tent-for-lent  and the Bishop of Southwark’s Lent Call: https://youtu.be/J_JaIQIvjVI

On Sunday 23 April we had our Annual Parochial Church Meeting. This was a chance to review the last year in the life of St Philip’s as recorded in our annual report. Copies are available in church, or on our website. After 4 years sterling service, Michelle Pegley stood down as Churchwarden and was thanked by all those present for the huge amount of time, energy and hard work she has put into the role for so long. We also thanked Kay Wheatley for all she has done over the last three years as PCC Secretary. I’m delighted that Annie Hilder is staying on as Churchwarden, and that David Collett will be serving as Churchwarden for the next year. He is no stranger to the role, having undertaken it many times in the past.

Lindsay is looking at starting a joint youth group with St Mark’s Reigate and St Matthew’s Redhill, aimed at those young people in Years 6-9. To help us with this, we have a questionnaire we’d love young people to complete. Please email Lindsay at vicarspr@gmail.com to take part or pick up a hard copy at the back of church.

A small team gathered in church on Saturday 29th March to prepare the posies which were to be given out in our Mothering Sunday service when we thought about Mother God, Mother Earth and Mother Church. It’s now full steam ahead as we prepare for our Holy Week and Easter services. All are very welcome. We’d love to see you.
